Our Italian inspired menu blends seamlessly with New York City’s “Little Italy” authenticity. We prepare our fresh, fine Italian meals in the Clam Bar tradition, where it’s all about the sauce! Work in a fun-loving Speak-Easy atmosphere. We are looking for Cooks to join the Team, to help us provide amazing food, prepared with high standards and accuracy, and provide exemplary service to our Guests who are treated like family.

Cook Position Summary

Speaks Clam Bar Cooks take pride in every plate they prepare, making sure that each dish is prepared exactly the same way each and every time, by consistently following the recipes provided. They must ensure they are using the freshest products and ingredients. Every plate they place onto the pass bar will be picture perfect! Their line is maintained clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift. The potential Cook candidate always follows proper Health Department code requirements, food rotation, labeling, and sanitation practices.

Requirements/Qualifications

· Previous high volume, full service cooking experience

· Comfortable in working as part of a Team, in a fast paced kitchen environment

· Accuracy and speed in executing tasks

· Ability to multitask and function in a line environment

· Ability to follow established recipes, with zero deviation, or short-cuts

· Satisfactory communication skills, and organization skills

· Excellent understanding of various cooking methods: fryer, sauté, grill, flat top, etc.

· Ability to work in a small area, on your feet for 8+ hours per day

· Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis
