Summer is here, which means lots of ice cream runs, especially for us that will endure the Venice heat! But where do you go for the best ice cream? Check out our list of the best ice cream shops in Venice and treat yourself to some of the sweetest eats in the area. The shops have convenient locations around town so you're bound to find some ice cream near me when deciding where to go!
One of the best ice cream shops in Venice, Nokomis Groves is a local favorite, drawing a lot of attention from tourists as well. The famous ice cream shop is open year-round, and it also has freshly-squeezed orange juice and other orange-flavored goods. The best part of visiting this ice cream shop in Venice is walking up to the small window outside and placing your order, reminding many of the popular ice cream shops they grew up with. Nokomis Groves is known for its orange flavor, which you can get solo or mixed with vanilla (my favorite), chocolate, lime, or pineapple.
Kilwin's Chocolates & Ice Cream of Venice
While you're strolling through Downtown, you'll pass Kilwin's, a sweets shop filled with yummy treats as well as some of the best ice cream in Venice. They have a wide wide variety of flavors including classics as well as unique ones like toasted coconut. They also have quite a few flavor options kids will love as well like Superman, birthday cake, and cookies, and cream.
A fun spin on your usual ice cream shop, The Soda Fountain is right on your way to Venice Beach and serves some of the greatest milkshakes, malts, and sundaes you'll ever have. They also have items like floats and freezes with an overwhelming list of options to make a flavor of your own. The blue raspberry freeze is absolutely delicious! The environment is cool here as well (pun intended) with an old-time feel, plus the shakes and floats are served in old-fashioned, large glasses. They're big enough to share, although you can indulge in one yourself. The whole family will love this place, and you can grab a bite to eat here, too, as they serve fantastic food.
Creamy and, as my nephew says, "yummy in my tummy," Ciao Gelato is definitely one of the best ice cream shops in Venice. This gelato shop has so many fun flavors, and they always rotate flavors, so you can try something new each visit. I have never been disappointed! Another plus to this place is that if you have a food allergy or are vegan, Cia Gelato can cater to you as they usually have five or six flavor options that are dairy-free and vegan.
Last but certainly not least, Scoops is one of the best ice cream shops in Venice, and the ice cream here is homemade! This ice cream shop has everything you could ever think of with your favorite flavors, milkshakes, banana splits, and ice cream you can take home! They even have the option to order online and pick your ice cream up to beat the lines.
