Description
Hundreds of Venice area children (and some adults) are choosing their costumes to show off in the Annual Venice MainStreet/Venice Lions Halloween Parade, Tuesday October 31st, at 4pm in Centennial Park.
Event Details
The parade down Venice Avenue will begin promptly at 4:30pm led by “Old Betsy”, Venice’s very own antique fire truck.
More than 500 children are expected to receive candy treats from the members of the Venice Lions Club, sponsors of the parade for 60 years. Following the brief parade, children will be free to Trick or Treat for more goodies at stores along Venice Ave.
“This is a chance for our kids to show off their costumes to the delight of spectators, parents and grandparents,” says Venice Lion Barry Sullivan who has managed the parade for 11 years. “It is an event that everyone enjoys and we are delighted to partner with Venice MainStreet and the merchants to make this annual event a showcase for our downtown.” For more information contact Erin Silk, Venice MainStreet CEO, at 941-484-6722.
Since 1988, Venice MainStreet has been dedicated to preserving and enhancing the beauty, historical character, community and economic vitality of downtown Venice.
The 50-member Venice Lions Club conducts a wide variety of vision and hearing projects as well as a number of community-related activities.
