Description
Join the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program, the Sarasota Bay chapter of the American Littoral Society, Around the Bend Nature Tours, and Sarasota County Parks and Natural Resources Department for a workday in Palmer Point Park.
Event Details
Volunteers will remove non-native beach naupaka (also known as Scaevola taccada, or Hawaiian half-flower) plants to protect native beach dune vegetation.
Important note: There is no on-site parking at Palmer Point Park. Volunteers should be prepared to walk along Turtle Beach between the public parking lot at Turtle Beach and Palmer Point Park (about 3/4 of a mile each way).
Each volunteer will be treated to a free bag lunch upon returning to Turtle Beach. Please indicate dietary preferences when you register.
