Arts Advocates Gallery, The Crossings at Siesta Key, 3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34239
Cecile Moran studied at the Swain School of Design, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston University’s College of Fine Art, and California State University. She also taught and studied in Madrid, Spain. She developed a painting technique that she calls “acrylic resist,” which she uses in her painting today. Her art is often imbued with the use of gold leaf, a process that she learned from her father, a second-generation sign painter and calligrapher. Cecile's work is found in numerous collections in the United States and Spain and has been exhibited in Massachusetts, California, New York, and Florida. See her works every Saturday in December from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Free docent-guided tours of the permanent exhibit of Sarasota Colony artists and Highwaymen works at 3:00 pm.
