Senator Greg Steube proudly serves District 23 in the Florida State Senate. District 23 includes all of Sarasota County and part of Charlotte County. A native Floridian, Senator Steube is proud to have been born and raised on the Suncoast. He is married to Jennifer and is the father of Ethan.
Senator Steube currently serves as Chair of the Judiciary Committee and Vice-Chair of the Banking & Insurance Committee. He is also a member of the Regulated Industries Committee, Agriculture Committee, and Appropriations Subcommittee on Finance & Tax.
Senator Steube attended the University of Florida where he was inducted into the University of Florida’s Hall of Fame as an undergraduate and earned a B.S. degree with honors in Animal Science with a minor in Agricultural Law. Following his undergraduate studies, Senator Steube attended UF’s Levin College of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2003.
After law school, Senator Steube enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent one year in the infantry and three years in the U.S. Army JAG Corps as a criminal Trial Counsel, Chief of Detainee Operations, Legal Assistance Attorney, and Administrative law Attorney. He served as a Captain in the JAG Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has received numerous awards and commendations for his service to his country.
