Description
North Sarasota Community Conversation -- Voices of Florida Women
Event Details
Voices of Florida Women
We want to hear from you! Please join the Florida Commission on the Status of Women and the Sarasota Commission on the Status of Women on November 2, 2019, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM at the Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library for a Community Conversation focused on the needs of women and families.
Between June and December of 2019, the Florida Commission on the Status of Women (FCSW) will be holding regional community conversations to identify key issues facing women, understand the critical needs that women and communities perceive as important, identify changes to key issues occurring between 2015 and 2019 and continue to build relationships with regional partners.
These discussions will foster a process that engages women and community stakeholders in identifying the challenges women face and positive solutions to those challenges. The results can contribute to a better understanding of women's specific needs, to improve communication of those needs and to better recognize ways to remove barriers. They can also assist in informing leaders at the local, county and state levels of important challenges affecting women.
Hosted by the Suncoast Commission on the Status of Women.
If your community or group is interested in scheduling someone from FCSW to present the Voices of Florida Women findings or in hosting a community conversation, please contact the Florida Commission on the Status of Women at (850) 414-3531 or ksciba@fcsw.net.
