Snowbird Outlaw Nationals/Night of Fire at BMP
Bradenton Motorsports Park celebrates racing with its 47th annual Snowbird Outlaw Nationals. Starting December 5 at 8:00 a.m. and ending on December 8 at 6:00 p.m. racers will have an opportunity to participate in one of the last competitions of the year. Racing fans are invited to all the different races and the world-renown jet show.
Historic Venice Walking Food Tour
Venice is a gorgeous city full of history and unique architecture. Join this walking tour on December 5 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and learn all about the famous historical figures that also enjoyed this beautiful location. Don’t forget that this is a food tour as well. So, you won’t just get to experience history. You also have the opportunity to sample delicious food and treats at local restaurants and shops.
11th Annual Gingerbread Festival
A well-loved tradition of the holiday season is building gingerbread houses. Beginning on December 6 at 10:00 a.m. The Mall at University Town Center will host its annual gingerbread festival. Come see all the wonderful houses created by more than 150 locals. For just $1, you can vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice Awards. The houses will be up and available for voting until December 15 at noon.
4th Annual Siesta Beach Seafood & Music Festival
This weekend starting on December 6 from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. the 4th seafood and music festival will take place at Siesta Beach Park . For just $5 for people over 12 years of age, you can enjoy live music in multiple genres as well as freshly made meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. Children under 12 years old are admitted for free.
The entire family will love this event happening on December 6 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Ranch Branch YMCA - Manatee YMCA. This is a free event for the entire community. You and the kids can drink hot chocolate while doing crafts with Santa. You also get the opportunity to go sledding on real snow right here in Florida.
If you are looking for a festive way to get some exercise and participate in a charity event, The Haven in Sarasota is having its annual 5K on December 7 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. This race has been a staple in Sarasota for more than 20 years. Proceeds will go toward providing services for people with disabilities. Register with the whole family for this race and get your holiday season started on the right foot.
Dress the kids up in their Christmas best and bring them out to Mixon Farms on December 8 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. They’ll get to participate in a fancy tea party with a light lunch buffet. Surrounded by décor from The Nutcracker, they’ll also see some favorite short scenes from the beloved Christmas ballet. The Dance Theatre of Bradenton provides dancers to bring the characters to life, and proceeds benefit the theatre.
