On Thursday, December 20, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota will be putting on The Sound of Music. The first show will begin at 2 p.m., and the second will start at 7:30 p.m. Featuring all of your favorite songs from the classic film, this production will allow you to experience this timeless story like you never have before this weekend.
Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker
Bring the whole family out to this amazing cultural event on Friday, December 21 at 7 p.m. at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Russian performers come to Sarasota to put on a wonderful show. This performance features sets artistically painted by hand and cultural additions to enhance the experience. No matter what age you are, this event will fill you with childlike wonder!
Break out the ugly Christmas sweater for this event hosted by The Showfolks Of Sarasota. The event takes place on Saturday, December 22 at 7 p.m. Join the party and fill your night with Christmas fun. Music will be provided by Frankie Rode.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
The beloved Christmas classic comes to the Sarasota stage on Saturday, December 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. This musical will focus on the idea of being different from the crowd makes you special. A show for all ages, Rudolph will bring out anyone’s Christmas spirit.
Selby Gardens will host Lights in Bloom on Sunday, December 23r at 6 p.m. With more than one million Christmas lights decorating the garden and pathways of this Sarasota treasure, this event is sure to leave a twinkle in your eye. Check out the beautifully-lit flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies. You’ll also be able to purchase delicious food from Michael's On East, and a cash bar will also be open.
With s’mores, music, and Santa Claus himself making an appearance, you won’t want to miss this event. On Sunday, December 23 beginning at 6 p.m., your whole family is welcome to join other Sarasota locals and their families on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. There will also be a candlelight service before the end of the night.
