Operational since 1953, the Sarasota Classic Car Museum is recognized as the second oldest continuously operating antique car museum in the Country! What better place to learn the history of automobiles than from this historic museum. The 60,000 square-foot facility includes more than 80 vehicles from the early 1900s through now.
The SCCM has dedicated its largest room as the Timeline Room, which shows the history of the automobile from its early invention by Karl Benz in 1885. This timeline shows the evolution of the car, the major players in the car manufacturing industry, sociological and cultural impacts, and environmental issues.
