Our tasting bar features the largest, freshest selection of bulk, *Ultra Quality*, single varietal extra virgin olive oils, master blends, and aged balsamic vinegar on tap. Come in and sample anything and everything. Once upon a time, a young boy named Guiseppe (Joe) Favata, left his home and family in Sicily with a dream of a better life for himself and his family. As a result of his dreams, a family business was born in 1938. This business was known as Joe & Son's grocery and was located at the corner of Nebraska and Henderson Avenue in the Ybor City area of Tampa, Florida. As the business expanded, it eventually was moved to 801 Henderson Avenue where it remained an integral part of the community for nearly 40 years. Joe, affectionately known as "Pepito” and his son, John, offered their customers the finest produce, meats, olive oils and staples and focused on providing excellent service to their customers. At one time, three generations of the family were working at the store. Customer satisfaction was their business philosophy and loyal customers were a testament to the service and products the family provided. After Pepito's death, "Mr. John,” his wife and their children, kept the store open until 1976. Four generations after Guiseppe Favata immigrated to America, his great- granddaughter, Andrea, reopened the legendary family business.
